This race used plank front section is fitted to the underside of the Red Bull race car. The FIA regulation is 10mm thickness for the plank on all Formula One cars. However Formula One cars make contact with the track surface over the many kerbs and bumps which may cause wear on the plank, to reduce the wear titanium skid block are fitted to the underside of the race car. Each plank has a unique fingerprint of wear markings on the surface of the race track.
