This is a great opportunity to own a genuine and authentic piece of Red Bull Racing/Toro Rosso and Pierre Gasly history that has been raced during the FIA Formula One World Championship. Formula One parts are designed to withstand G forces of over 5g, top speeds in excess of 200mph and yet be as light as possible to reduce the overall Formula One car weight.
This race used Pierre Gasly driver seat is from the Toro Rosso STR12
Built from carbon fibre this unique seat is made to measure for Formula One Driver Pierre Gasly. At the initial seat fitting the F1 driver sits in the race car in a comfortable position on a plastic large bag. The mechanics then mix up some two part foam and pour it into the bag. Pierre then moves about to achieve the perfect driving position and waits until the two part foam goes solid, the foam releases heat and this can be a little uncomfortable for the driver. He then gets out of his race car and the bag is removed and trimmed up. The trimmed bagged seat is then put back into the car and Pierre tests the position. More modifications are made to the bagged seat until the driver is happy with the position. The bagged seat is then used to create a buck which is machined from tooling block. The buck is then used to create the final carbon seat. The unique carbon seat is refitted to the race car and SEB sits in to test the position and any additional modifications can be made at the time the seatbelt apertures are created. The seat has a small amount of anti vibration material added for driver comfort.. Finally the new carbon seat is then tested at the next F1 test and any more modifications are made if required. The seat is now ready for race use by Pierre in his Toro Rosso race car.
